Research projects undertaken:
1. Project leader, “Study on  Mechanism of NPV resistance to Silkworm”,National Natural Science Foundation of China (2004-2006)
2. Project leader, ‘Molecular markers, locations and cloning of genes of important economic characters in silkworm”, Jiangsu High-tech Research Projects (2001-2004).
3. Joint project leader, ‘Studies on molecular marker assisted breeding system in silkworm’, key research projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (1998-2001). Molecular markers linked to silkworm’s fluoride resistance and NPV resistance were obtained, and the corresponding breeding systems were established.
4. Project leader, ‘Silkworm germplasm collection, preservation and unitization’, basic research projects of Ministry of Science & Technology of China (2000).
5. Vice project leader, ‘the 9th Five Year Key Projects of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences’.

Awards and publications:
1. The 1st Prize of Sci-tech Progress, Ministry of Agriculture (1999), ranked the second position.
2. The 2nd Prize of National Sci-tech Progress (2001), ranked the secont position.
3. Published Over 50 research papers at home and abroad. Participated the compilation of Silkworm Biology organized by academician Mr. Z. H. Xiang and wrote over 120,000 words.
