On the afternoon of September 27, Professor CUI Xiaofeng, editor-in-chief of the internationally renowned journal “Molecular Plant”was invited to Jiangsu University to give a lecture entitled "How to publish articles in high-level journals" in the conference room F609. Prof. TAN Xiaoli, dean of the school of Life Science, presided over the lecture.

The journal “Molecular Plant” founded in 2008 is an international leading authority in the field of Plant journal (latest impact factor of 12.084, the Cell ZiKan). It is sponsored by the Institute of Plant Physiology and Ecology (IPPE) and Chinese Society of Plant Physiology and Plant Molecular Biology (CSPP), and it has been indexed by more than 10 databases including SCI, Medline, CA, BA and FSTA. Special guest CUI Xiaofeng is a distinguished research fellow of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the executive Editor of the journals “Molecular Plant” and “Plant Communications”.

In this lecture, the Chief editor Cui introduced in detail the philosophy and practice of “Molecular Plant” in building its world-class periodical brand, the construction of professional editorial team and team cooperation in building world-class journals and the establishment of Molecular Plant sister journal (Plant Communications), besides online communication on the construction of first-class journals, and about submission and review of articles. Prof. Cui also made several suggestions for researchers to publish high-scoring articles: First, ground-breaking discoveries in new fields; Second, the subversive new concept and ideas different from textbooks ; The third is about to make a significant breakthrough in an important technology or method ; Fourth, research progress on important biological issues.
