The School of Life Sciences held a series of academic exchange activity

On the morning of September 28, Profs. WANG Kejian and HOU Wensheng from the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and a postdoctoral fellow HU Limin from Huazhong Agricultural University were invited by the School of Life Sciences, Jiangsu University for academic exchange and communication. TAN Cheng, the Secretary of the school Party Committee, and the Dean Prof. TAN Xiaoli, together with several supervisors and graduate students participated in this activity.

Prof. WANG Kejian delivered a lecture on the application of gene editing in breeding and identification, shared his successful research experience, and showed the trend in rice non-fusion breeding technology. Prof. HOU Wensheng reported on the exploration of soybean genome editing for improvement of traits, apart from a series of achievements obtained by his research group in soybean breeding. Dr. FAN chuchuan presented a report on the application of gene editing in genetic improvement of rapeseed, as well as the latest research progress and focus of their team. Afterwards, started to conduct an in-depth discussion and academic exchange.

This academic activity would help with promotion of academic exchange and collaboration to upgrade the academic research level of the School of Life Sciences.
