Professor Chen Huayou's team from our institute published two consecutive papers in Q1 journals

A research team led by Professor Chen Huayou has recently published two significant papers in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry (a Q1, Top journal), advancing the fields of biological feed production and agricultural waste recycling.

The first paper systematically elucidated the strategies and advantages of using lactic acid bacteria as "cell factories" for heterologous enzyme production, offering a novel approach for developing low-cost biofeeds from agricultural waste. Dr. Mati Ullah is the first author. The second paper focused on cellobiose dehydrogenase (CDH), reviewing strategies to enhance its catalytic performance through molecular modification, providing important insights for its industrial applications like straw-based feed. Master's student Pengfei Li is the first author.

Both papers were published online in June 2025, with Professor Chen as the corresponding author. The findings provide key theoretical support for biofeed development and agricultural waste valorization.
